Pholicious meeting 44- scary pho!
I'm extremely behind with the updating! This was our Halloween meeting...we tried to find a 'scary' looking place to go to... and ohhh this place was actually scary, lol. The windows were tinted... so we weren't even sure if they really served pho...or if it was a cover up for something else
The name of the restaurant is: Lu Quan. It's on 1086 Kingsway, Vancouver.
Here is a picture of the outside... see you don't really know what's inside!!! And also one of the inside- dark and lots of fluorescent lights. When we walked in, everyone was starring at us... like we were not supposed to be there! There were lots of people smoking ...next to the non-smoking sign..haha.We didn't take a lot of pictures inside because we were too scared to. We managed to sneak some pictures of the food, woot!

Here's a picture of yummy sub...and spicy soup!

The service was not so good- they seemed surprised that we ordered food..haha and thus forgot our orders and brought things out slowly. The pho was pretty good though! Portions were good, it had lots of meat, but the broth had a high content of MSG
Therefore it only received the average score of 7... which is quite good for a place that scary
I probably won't go back there again! Unless it was with a group of 10 or more...hehe.
So the next restaurant that we visited was a vegetarian one! so wait for that update

mmmm the regular pho looks really good. I don't know how i feel about the sauce all up in it though...
I had pho today. It was rare beef and meatball pho. It was a nice size with decent portions. I had a little dim sum before I went to eat pho so I wasn't as hungry, so that might've been why the portions seemed good. The broth was ok, the noodles were ok and the meat was good. I think I need to add more lemon to my broth.
Anyway's hope you guys are still documenting your pho experiences.
